Anyone seeing an agenda with this story?

Why don’t these nitwits protest outside the Ugandan Embassy or even the Kenyan Embassy for that matter? Why are they so fixated on Muslim homophobia but continue to turn a blind eye to homophobia practiced by non-Muslims, such as Russia or the various facets of the Christian Right?

These assholes pretend to be concerned for the plight of homosexuals in the Muslim world, yet they are often treating gay Muslims in patronizing terms. Gay Muslims have time and again made it clear that they do NOT want to be pawns of a hateful agenda that will make their lives and cause even more difficult to fight for.

Thank you.

I couldn’t come up with the other reasons this bothered me. That was perfect.

What is the point of posting this story?

You seem annoyed with the Swedish political left. Or maybe you’re proud of the far-right Swedish nationalists for having a pride parade, regardless of their motivation? The article says nothing about the Muslims in the neighborhoods in question being upset.

The 2013 Stockholm riots mentioned in the Haaretz article were about police brutality—not homophobia, AFAIK—so what does the neighborhood where they occurred have to do with gay pride? Does this group have plans to march through other (presumably) conservative areas where people from other religions are concentrated, or is this just aimed at Muslims?

Hmm, when I googled sweden democrats cultural marxism all sorts of right-wing filth came bubbling up, including a large serving of antisemitism. Imagine that—people who hate one minority usually hate others as well. Who could’ve guessed?

I’ll just leave the PDF below here for now. The author, Kristian Steiner, is a senior lecturer at Malmö University. Oh look, familiar names!—He even mentions Gisélle Littman (a.k.a. Bat Ye’or) and her Eurabia scaremongering. Christian Zionists too, those wonderful cuddly folks who staunchly support Israel because they need its existence to fulfill their biblical end time prophecies, at which point all Jews get to become Christian (or burn in hell for eternity). Yay, lucky them! //

SD used to be infested with supposedly “ex” neo nazis. It’s Fjordman’s favorite party.

Personally I’m not just seeing an agenda, I’m also smelling something old and noxious.

I just ran the nic through Google Translate—apparently predaka is Croatian for ancestors. The smell is getting stronger.

re: #4 CuriousLurker

Proud of the far right for planning this? Uh no, if anything I was like, “WTF, how is the right going to get gay people to do this on the spur of the moment”. Then I discovered that this stunt is going to take place during the middle of the annual Stockholm Pride Festival, which starts today. stockholmpride.org I can’t find any mention of this planned march on the site, so apparently the SDs were hoping to hijack the event and draw some of the attendees into their experiment.

Annoyed with the political left? Try distressed. Like you, I haven’t heard any complaints from the Muslims themselves who live in the neighborhoods mentioned, but according to the local SJWs this march is a “racist” (I’m sure everyone here would like to know just what race Islam is supposed to be) provocation that must be opposed. So while the SDs are likely hoping that locals of the targeted neighborhoods react in a way to where they can be cast as incompatible with the values of Swedish society, the left appears willing to throw certain values and traditions under the bus in order to appear being the “R” word.

Say a small number of disaffected people in these or other areas do decide they have a problem with gay pride events and other aspects of Swedish society. Say they decide to rally others like them to push for their own interpretation of the ideal society which, based on whatever religion or political philosophy, conflicts badly with the values of the average Swede. If the left is seen as unwilling and/or unable to fight for the average Swede who just wants to get through the day with as little hassle as possible, groups like the Swedish Democrats and unsavory people like the ones you mentioned are going to start looking a lot more appealing.

By the way, I came up with “Predaka” as a name mash of the Predator and MK’s Baraka.

re: #8 Predaka

Okay, fair enough—that’s much clearer. Please understand that:

1) Those of us who haven’t lived in Europe aren’t familiar with attitudes & cultural norms in the various countries there, especially when it comes to how political speech/actions are perceived by various social groups.

2) This site has a long history—lots of former members were Islamophobes on the far-right who still hold grudges against LGF years after having been banned—they tend to register sock puppets and mostly remain inactive, only popping up when they’re ready to start trouble and risk burning a sock.

3) The fact that you have negative karma, don’t interact with us on a regular basis, brought up a far-right Swedish political party in relation to Muslims, and then made comments critical of the Swedish political left without providing context set off all kinds of alarms—as you can see, not only for me but for people like Thanos who have been here far longer.

I would add that it didn’t help that your nic happens to a Croatian word that could easily be interpreted as nationalistic, even if you weren’t aware of it.

1) I actually live in the Midwest; never lived in or visited Europe myself.

2) I’ve known of LGF for some time and am somewhat to moderately familiar with the history and shift of attitudes and people. Part of the reason I didn’t register sooner was because I was never online during the brief times that registration was open in the past.

3) Fair enough.

European here.

This is an obvious provocation by the far right aimed at Muslims. We have seen them use both the rainbow and the Israeli flag before. I doubt it will work.

However, I would say that there is a serious problem on the left in Europe with Islamists. We saw this in the reaction to the Charlie Hebo attack where Charlie was blamed. Some did this in America too - and out of utter ignorance for what Charlie stood for.

Islamists will actively exploit liberal guilt over Islamophobia - which exists - for their own end, which is itself a fascist ideology. LGF is a space sitting right on that line and thank heavens for it.

See @MaajidNawaz, @CEMB_forum for walking this line.

It bothers me because it seems like a rather obvious example of “Let’s you and him fight”. How much better could it be for the far right than to instigate an in-your-face provocation to get the gays and the Muslims to start snarling at each other?

The actual gays should start making out in front of the fake right wing ones as revenge. They will panic and flee the scene.
